Future CommonsImagine boldly. Record honestly.

Start here

Six steps, in order, and none of them take more than twenty minutes. If you only do one, do step two — a single scored forecast teaches more than a week of reading.

  1. 01
Read the three pieces that set the tone

Slow thinking, prediction journals, and why small communities beat big platforms. Twenty minutes, and you will know whether this place is for you.

  2. 02
Score one forecast in three questions

The Brier calculator asks what you think will happen, how sure you are, and what would change your mind. It takes a minute and leaves a number.

  3. 03
Write one thing you are still thinking about

A question, a prediction, a half-formed idea. It does not need to be finished — it needs to be specific enough that someone can disagree with it.

  4. 04
Keep the number somewhere you will find it

The prediction journal is the point of the whole site: write a probability and a deadline, then come back when the deadline passes.

  5. 05
Ask a question we have not answered

Open Questions collects the ones this site has not settled, each with the evidence that would settle it. Add one, or argue with one.

  6. 06
Read the rules before your second post

Short, and mostly about the same thing: write your own words, argue with the strongest version of the other side, and give people time.

Nothing here is a membership funnel. There is no level to reach. The only thing that accumulates is your own record, and you can read it any time at the prediction journal.
No rush. No hot takes. This is a slow conversation — introduce yourself when you are ready.
